The Shining Futures Center™
Improving Life for Teens And Young Adults
Many teens and young adults face challenges to independent living. At the Shining Futures Center we have developed a program that addresses these shortfalls and can help many of these individuals succeed as adults.
Although many youngsters benefit from federal and state programs, older teens and young adults do not have as many resources available to them.
Many kids do not learn in the typical fashion and they can grow up thinking that something is wrong with them. So often, this is not true! Some feel life is unfair and learn to resent authority. They may have little or no self-esteem. We work to break this cycle and give them a place to flourish.
Here they are encouraged and nurtured. We celebrate their energy and imagination, see them for who they are and help them feel good about themselves. We are here to focus their energy into positive channels and cultivate their imaginations.
We work with individuals to help them identify their aptitude and what they would really like to do with their lives. Then we provide the tools to achieve their goals.
We provide a place for those 13 and up, seeking a safe place to spend time in a relaxed, supervised environment with resources available for vocational and social training as well as job placement.
